Development of the Script for Blind People

Ever since the time of ancient civilizations we have been coming across various attempts of creating a script for blind people. But a systematic development of such a script commences with establishment of first institutions for blind people, and in the late 18th and the early 19th centuries, several scripts appear in institutes where blind people were educated. They adopted only the Braille script as theirs, and today it is used around the world. Braille granted blind people equality, education, appreciation and affirmation within the society, a shape and system for everyday communication, approach to the world of science, art, and also a way to express their own creative powers.
